This past Wednesday I had the pleasure of moderating a panel discussion featuring
Jeannie Ericson, Director of
Lens, PBA
Andrew Wilson, SVP of
Atlanta.net
Sue Klumpp, Marketing Manager,
nuBridges
Lisa Aloisio,
Brandware PR
Each of these panelist were early adopters of social media as a means to accomplish specific organizational goals, but was faced with skeptics within their own organization.
A few key points that the audience were able to walk away with include:
- You need to just start as a way to show that there is value in participating within social networks.
- At the same time corporate governance needs to be considered IMMEDIATELY.
- Identify a strategy that can positively impact the bottom line.
- Although many social media tools are free, successfully implementing social media comes with a price tag.
- Do not get distracted from your core business and responsibilities. Leverage social media to enhance Business as Usual.
Thanks to the 50+ people who attended the session and we look forward to seeing everyone at our speaker series meeting on Aug 5. Details coming soon.
